International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

On March 21, 2025, a program was organized to observe the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The event was presided over by the college principal, Dr. Prem Shankar Gautam. During the program, college lecturer Mr. Banwari Pathak (NAAC Coordinator) explained the significance of this day to student-teachers.

In this series, the program coordinator, Mr. Zaheer Khan, lecturer at Vivekananda Shikshan Prashikshan Mahavidyalaya, Suroth, elaborated on the significance of this day. He informed that the United Nations declared March 21 as the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination in 1966. He also mentioned that on this day in 1960, the police opened fire on a peaceful protest against apartheid in Sharpeville, South Africa, killing 69 people.

He further highlighted that prior to this, India’s Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, had led a major struggle against the apartheid policy in South Africa.

Several lecturers participated in this program, including Mr. Yogendra Mishra, Mr. Prakash  Jatav, Mr. Sumran Singh Dagur, Mr. Ram Shiv Singh Gurjar, Mr. Shyam Sundar Dagur,sh.ravindra rajbhar,smt. madhavi Sharma, Sh. Firoj khan,Sh. Sachin kumar,Sh. Udaybhan singh,.Sh. Vishnu kumar Sharma,Sh. Brijpal singh,Sh Ramavtar gurjar and Mr. Abdul Salim, along with student-teachers.

The event was hosted by Mr. Zaheer Khan. The program was very inspiring and successful.
